Mark Lesswing Named NAR's Chief Technology Officer and SVP

CHICAGO, July 25, 2006

Mark Lesswing today was named chief technology officer and senior vice president for the National Association of Realtors®. Lesswing has been vice president and director of NAR's Center for REALTOR® Technology for the past five years.

As CTO, Lesswing will represent NAR as technology advocate for information technology. In addition to overseeing the association's information technology initiatives and strategies, Lesswing will also identify Internet-based services for members and evaluate existing services and programs.

"Mark is the ideal candidate to champion Realtors®' technology vision. His extensive knowledge of the industry, his deep background in information technology and his strong communications skills will serve him well," said NAR CEO and EVP Dale Stinton. Stinton praised Lesswing for his leadership as the first director of CRT.

Lesswing began programming robots in high school, which led to management positions with Sybase and Oracle. While at Oracle, Lesswing began to work with object-oriented technology and went on to found STR Consultancy in 1992. Later, he spent three years involved in high tech turnarounds before joining NAR in 2001. As director of CRT, he was responsible for NAR's technology center and was a frequent speaker at real estate and technology conferences. Lesswing is a graduate of Lehigh University with a B.S. in industrial engineering.

NAR's Center for REALTOR. Technology was established to provide technology leadership, guidance and assistance for NAR members; CRT makes available informed industry insight, research and open-source applications through its mission of implementation, advocacy and information.
