The National Association of Realtors®, in a letter to members of the U.S. House of Representatives, urged Congress to make the FHA and conforming loan limit increases permanent as part of the 2008 Housing Stimulus bill, which is expected to be marked up this week.

Things will be heating up in Florida this fall as the National Association of Realtors® convenes in Orlando for the 2008 REALTORS® Conference & Expo, November 7-10. This year's conference, with the theme "Destination Success -- Full Speed Ahead," is expected to draw 25,000 Realtors® and guests as NAR continues its centennial celebration.

The National Association of Realtors®, in a letter today to U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Henry Paulson, expressed opposition to the ¿Blueprint for a Modernized Financial Regulatory Structure,¿ which would permit banking conglomerates to engage in the commercial activity of real estate brokerage and management, and asked the Treasury to withdraw this proposed rule.

The National Association of Realtors® joined U.S. Senators Richard Durbin, D-Ill.; Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark.; Olympia Snowe, R-Maine; and Norm Coleman, R-Minn. as they introduced the Small Business Health Options Program today. NAR supports and endorses the program but reiterates the importance of reforming the U.S. health care market for small businesses and independent contractors.
