Surround Sound Campaign: Training

The General Idea

Surround Sound Training is offered through state and local REALTOR® associations and involves representatives from NAR and NAR's partners — Burson-Marsteller and Direct Impact — coming to you for a workshop on community outreach and media relations.

Each class can accommodate as few as 10 participants or as many as 30. You make the call. We offer the training free of charge, but we ask that local REALTOR® associations coordinate their training requests with their state association to assure effective use of resources.  Each training session is six hours in length, running from 9:30 am to 3:30pm.

Currently, we are fully booked through mid-November -- so we are scheduling new training sessions in late November and beyond.  Yes, we are booking into 2010 now!

To schedule a training session or for more information, contact Liz Giovaniello at lgiovaniello@realtors.org.

The Specifics

The training is designed for association spokespersons who are charged with reaching out to the media and the community. Each session can be tailored to meet your association needs and is based on making the most of your market messages. View a sample agenda (PDF: 273KB).

Please note, state and local associations are responsible for selecting and arranging for the class facilities and for inviting the participants they choose to each session.  Please see the meeting room and facilities checklist for specifics on what is needed for each training session.

A few days prior to each session, NAR will send electronic files of handouts for the session.  We ask that the state or local association make copies of those files for each participant.

NAR pays the travel and hotel expenses for the instructors.

If you schedule a training session and find that you do not have at least 10 firmly committed participants one week in advance of the class, please contact Liz Giovaniello at lgiovaniello@realtors.org to reschedule.
