All about the National Association ... and how we can help you.
Overview of NAR NAR is the nation's largest trade and professional association. It serves more than 1 million members in 50 states, Guam, Puerto Rico, District of Columbia, and the Virgin Islands. There are 54 state associations and approximately 1,600 local associations of REALTORS® that belong to NAR.
NAR preserves and strengthens the proprietary rights of the association in its registered trademarks; helps promote benefits and services of REALTORS®; conducts annual meetings, trade shows, and educational programs; and sponsors lobbying to protect and promote real estate interests.
Browse through the "About NAR" page for more information on NAR's mission, history, programs, products, and services.
Overview of Board Duties The Three-Way Agreement is a written agreement between NAR, the state associations, and the local associations of that state, outlines the rights of the member boards (local and state associations) to grant REALTOR status to qualified members and binds the member boards to subscribe to the Code of Ethics, maintain good standing, and regulate the REALTOR trademark, among other things.
