Volunteer
· USA Freedom Corps: http://usafreedomcorps.gov -- A collection of volunteer needs in the affected states.
· Louisiana Emergency Preparedness Association: http://www.lepa.org – Volunteers are needed to assist with disaster relief. If you are available to help, please contact the American Red Cross at (225) 291-4533.
· Salvation Army: http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/usn/www_usn.nsf - fill out a Salvation Army volunteer form. Please do not come to the sites directly to volunteer. You will be contacted as the need arises both in the directly affected states and in the surrounding states sheltering refugees.

Donate Goods, In-Kind Products, or Services – General
· Red Cross: http://www.redcross.org/donate/donateinkind.html - Offers of sizeable, bulk donations are reviewed to determine if they meet a current need for disaster victims that can be addressed by the Red Cross. Bulk donations are typically new, shrink-wrapped and palletized items, and they are transported by the donor. If you would like to discuss this type of donation, please contact your local Red Cross Chapter: http://www.redcross.org/where/chapts.asp.
· Mississippi Emergency Management Agency: http://www.mema.ms.gov - set up the Mississippi Hurricane Recovery Fund Call Center for anyone wishing to donate money, goods, and services. For these contributions, please call: 1-866-230-8903 or local (Jackson) 601-981-1247
· Louisiana Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness: http://www.ohsep.louisiana.gov - Hurricane Katrina Donations Hotline 1-866-334-8305. It is working closely with organizations active in disaster to coordinate donations of goods and services with agencies which can receive, store and distribute them. It said these are needed: MREs, canned goods, non-perishable food items, baby supplies, mosquito repellents, bleach and other cleaning supplies, cases of bottled water, toiletries, individually boxed juice, individually wrapped snacks, rubber and heavy duty work gloves, dust masks, plastic utensils, and paper plates.

· Alabama Emergency Management Agency: http://ema.alabama.gov – Alabama residents, volunteer or donate to the Hurricane Katrina Emergency Relief Fund: http://as5.business.auburn.edu/ems/ems2.main_page.
· Individuals from any state who would like to donate time, equipment, etc. should call Volunteer FEMA at 800-440-6728 or visit http://www.fema.gov.
Donate Specific Goods or Services
· Cell phones: Do you have an old cell phone you're not using? Sell it for cash, and direct 100% of the sale proceeds to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund. Simply visit www.CellForCash.com and click on "Hurricane Relief." In addition, CellForCash.com will donate an additional $1.00 to the Red Cross for every phone it purchases under its "Hurricane Relief" initiative.
· Airline miles: Red Cross has list of the airlines that have charitable mile agreements with the American Red Cross, with a brief summary of those agreements: http://www.redcross.org/donate/donatemiles.html.
