Allan Dalton Named President of REALTOR.com

(October 2) --
Homestore, Inc., the leading supplier of online media and technology tools to real estate professionals, today announced that Allan Dalton has joined the company as President of REALTOR.com, the Internet's No.1 real estate site.

Dalton's 20-plus year career in the real estate industry included 12 years as President and co-owner of an independent real estate brokerage with more than 20 offices. Since 1997, Dalton has been a senior executive within several of Cendant Corporation's residential real estate units. Most recently, Dalton served as Executive Vice President of Coldwell Banker New England Metro, the largest real estate services organization in New England, which was formed by the merger of operations of The DeWolfe Companies, Inc. and Coldwell Banker Hunneman earlier this year. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President at Coldwell Banker Hunneman and before that, as Senior Vice President of NRT.

Recognized as a pioneer in creating innovative and effective marketing systems for real estate professionals and companies, Dalton helped create Century 21's Customized Marketing System and Career Development System as well as ERA's Value Added Marketing System and Value Added Career Development Book. He also developed the NRT Full Service Marketing System and created three major marketing systems for Better Homes and Gardens.

"My professional career has been dedicated to supporting and improving the productivity and profitability of REALTORS. There is no better or more important platform for me to continue that effort than REALTOR.com," said Dalton. "I believe REALTOR.com represents one of the best marketing and brand building tools available to real estate professionals. I am excited to join the new management team at Homestore to help deliver these tools and services to all REALTORS."

"We are extremely pleased to welcome Allan to Homestore," said Mike Long, Homestore's Chief Executive Officer. "Allan's passion and commitment to making REALTORS successful is unparalleled in our industry. As a former draft pick of the Boston Celtics, Allan's approach to basketball is an effective metaphor for his approach to business and customers. Allan's extraordinary drive and character were highlighted in an April 2000 article in The Atlantic Monthly titled, 'The Best Pick-up Basketball Player in America.' After traveling with and observing Allan for weeks, the author concluded, 'Allan gets everybody involved. Teammates quickly learn that Dalton will make them look good. Dalton not only makes his team better, he makes the game better.' Allan's real estate career is punctuated with this same commitment to making REALTORS more successful. Under his leadership, REALTOR.com has the opportunity to achieve the full potential of online media, benefiting REALTORS and consumers alike."

Terry McDermott, the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS Executive Vice President/CEO, praised the move. "Homestore continues to show their commitment to the real estate industry through their recruitment of the industry's best and brightest. We are thrilled that Allan is joining the new management team at Homestore to lead the efforts to promote our official Internet site, REALTOR.com, to real estate professionals and consumers."

Dalton and his family will be relocating from the East Coast to Westlake Village, Calif., where Homestore is based.
