Products and Tools from NAR Research
By T.J. Doyle, Marketing Manager
Aside from serving our REALTOR® member community, there are requests for our work all the time from the Federal Reserve, U.S. Treasury Department, Council of Economic Advisors, HUD, OFHEO, Congressional Budget Office, individual congressional staff, et. We also get inundated with calls with Wall Street firms, economic forecasting firms, and private real estate consultants.
Many of these products and tools are free, and those that are not, are available at a significant discount to NAR members. Be sure to visit the NAR Research store page for the latest products.
One of our newest and most popular products is the Market-by-Market Home Price Analysis Reports. As REALTORS®, you don’t “make” the market — you interpret it. Your clients depend on you to be a knowledgeable advisor about the largest investment most of them will ever make — a home of their own. Buyers and sellers expect their REALTOR® to know how to price a home, negotiate the sale and provide the best information on mortgage financing options — all within the context of the local market. Bottom line: Access to the right information about your market conditions is critical to your success — and they’re only a click away.
There’s a comprehensive report on each of the nation’s top 150 markets that provides local details on:
- Home sales activity
- Home price activity
- Affordability conditions
- Mortgage financing preferences
- Job market information
Each report provides a snapshot of current conditions as well as the likely direction for the coming year. Because your clients are counting on you to know this information, you need to check out your market’s Home Price Analysis Report today.
One of our most popular reports is the Relocation Report. Relocation Reports pinpoint which counties relocation clients are coming from/going to along with income information — that is, how many households from New York county, N.Y., Bucks County, Penn., Bergen County, N.J., etc. moved to Palm Beach County, Fla. and the relative income of the relocation clients coming from these counties. Relocation Reports are available for all counties in the U.S. and now members can access these reports for free.
Another popular research publication is the annual Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers. Who are today's home buyers and sellers? Do they use the services of a real estate professional? What role does technology play in the home buying and selling process? These questions and many more are answered in this Profile. This valuable tool provides the answers in a user-friendly format, designed to allow easy comparisons with previous studies, using a mix of charts, graphs and tables.
