  • From the 2008 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, 44 percent of recent home buyers are on a social networking site.
  • 79 percent of recent buyers aged 18 to 24 are on social networking Web sites.
  • One in ten buyers over the age of 65 are on social networking sites.
  • Social media is a growing trend to connect with old friends, coworkers, and classmates, but it can also be used an important marketing tool.
  • From the 2009 Member Profile REALTORS® are using social networking sites with increased frequency. 35 percent of all REALTORS® are currently using a social networking site.
  • In comparison, 71 percent of REALTORS® who are 29 years old and younger are on social networking sites.
  • One in five REALTORS® who are over the age of 60 are on social networking sites.
