Daily Real Estate News  |  April 27, 2011  |   Realtor.com Launches iPad Real Estate App
Riding the mobile wave, Realtor.com launched an iPad app this week to reach out to the 17 million iPad users by connecting them with millions of property listings and other real estate information.
Besides offering photos and property details for listings, the app also features an Area Highlighter where users can draw their own search boundaries anywhere in the U.S. They just use the iPad’s touch-screen to "slide, pinch, zoom, and pan through a map to drill down into a neighborhood or particular street."

The app's users will also be able to rate properties and save personal notes on each home for later reference--all information that they can send to their real estate agents via e-mail.

"Mobile is changing the way people buy and sell homes and our iPad app opens real estate up to millions of people," says Steve Berkowitz, chief executive officer of Move Inc. which operates Realtor.com. "It combines mobile's instant gratification and investigative component that everyone loves with Move’s search technology."

Realtor.com’s iPad app launch comes at a time when the company says its other mobile applications have soared the web site's daily usage. Its mobile apps also have contributed to a 240 percent increase in consumer outreach to local agents, and open house views have increased by 459 percent in the last four months, says Errol Samuelson, president of Realtor.com.

The Realtor.com iPad app can be downloaded at REALTOR.com/mobile.
