Ark.: Out-of-State Real Estate Courses Allowed
The Arkansas Real Estate Commission has revised its rules to allow out-of-state schools or organizations to offer licensure and continuing education courses for Arkansas credit.
The new rule went into effect Jan. 1. Previously, those classes had to be conducted by an accredited post-secondary school or a school or organization licensed by the State Board of Private Career Education.
"We're now recognizing education that has been approved by another licensing jurisdiction that we feel is equivalent to that of the commission,” says Bill Williamson, AREC's executive director.
The new option will be particularly useful for those licensees who move to Arkansas from another state, he says. "This gives them the opportunity to use the education they received in the other state provided it meets our time requirements."
