Real Estate Sales Pros Join Podcasting Craze
Real estate practitioners can send audio information about new property listings to prospective buyers thanks to new podcasting technology.
Using the podcasting technology, audio files that contain listings data are sent to a subscriber's MP3 player via Really Simple Syndication (RSS) technology. Matt Barr, communications director for a la mode, Inc., a tech company offering the service, says practitioners could use the technology to win listing contracts.
That's what Grand Rapids, Mich.-based associate Todd Ernst is doing. He's using it to provide 60-second podcasts that focus on a property's age, size, and style. He might expand the service to include audio home tours, he says. I can "go against John Doe who has 20 more years (experience) than me and has more sales" by saying to clients, "'Hey I have this multimedia feature on my Web site'…. That's a pretty big" edge, he says.
