Daily Real Estate News  |  October 20, 2008  |   Selling Tip: Buyers by the Busload
Jennifer Pickert, an Atlanta-area associate with Prudential Georgia Realty, has given house hunting a new twist.

Five months ago, she began offering the Home Hunter Tour, loading a maximum of 12 potential buyers on a minibus and taking them on whirlwind tour of eight or 10 houses that fit their criteria.

"Initially, we were just going to show foreclosed properties," Pickert said. "But it's been so well received that we're now doing all properties."

Pickert says she focuses on one neighborhood during each trip to give potential buyers an appreciation of what is available in a variety of price ranges. “It puts into perspective what $50,000 can [buy] and what the difference is between a house at $375,000 and another at $425,000," she says.

A bus tour is a gas saver, Pickert adds. "And the sellers like it because it gets a lot of people through their house at one time."
