When Candace “Paige” Anderson says real estate is all about family, she’s got the evidence to back up her claim. The 27-year-old’s business partners are her mother and her husband. “They are what make me special,” says Anderson. She and her husband, Mike, moved back to Mississippi from California in 2004, after her mother was injured in a car accident and unable to run her business. Four years later, they have the No. 1 producing team in Desoto County, closing on 110 transaction sides last year for nearly $22 million.

 SUPER-DUPER: She attributes part of her success to a novel marketing campaign, depicting her team as “superheroes of real estate.” It involved plastering her head on a cartoon body wearing tights and a cape.

 INVENTORY CONTROL: Another smart tactic has been setting up a property management division so that sellers having difficulty finding buyers can rent out their homes.
