Everyone wants listings. But 600 in one year? Vacant, with no utilities? And with only 36 hours to get the For Sale sign up and the picture in one of four MLSs? All at an average list price of $40,000? For Isaac, it’s all in a year’s work. With partner Bob Weston, two buyer’s reps, and six salespeople under service agreements, this 11-year real estate veteran manages the sales of HUD-foreclosed homes in 17 upstate New York counties. The team also sells about 25 percent of its listed properties. 

SYSTEMS AND SYMPATHY: Juggling as many as 100 calls a day and tracking tax records, property stats, and offers by “scanning everything into my laptop,” says Isaac, wouldn’t seem to leave much time for client advocacy. Yet Isaac finds the tough task of “taking inexperienced buyers under my wing and sticking with them” as they struggle to finance and rehab homes the biggest draw of the business.
