NAR CODE OF ETHICS TIPS: A Quick Reference Guide

Between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2008, every member of the National Association of REALTORS® is required to complete 2½ hours of Code of Ethics training. For your convenience, you may take the Code of Ethics course free, online at our website.

Please note you will need to contact your state’s real estate licensing commission to determine whether or not the REALTOR.org online Code of Ethics course meets your state's Continuing Education/Licensing requirements.

When you have completed the REALTOR.org Code of Ethics course:

  1. You will find out immediately if you have passed.
  2. You will receive a confirmation email in 24 hours.
  3. Your NAR record will be updated to reflect that you have successfully completed this cycle of the Code of Ethics.

IF you Do not know your NRDS Number:

  1. It is the 8- or 9-digit number on your NAR Membership Card.
  2. REALTOR® Magazine: it is the 8- or 9-digit number between the slashes, above your name.
  3. Find it with your license number or email address. 

IF you Do not have a REALTOR.org Login, follow these steps to create one:

  1. Go to www.REALTOR.org and click on “Register”
  2. Check the – I am “REALTOR®, REALTOR® Associate Institute Affiliate, CIPS Network member, or Association Staff” box
  3. Enter your NRDS number and click “Proceed with Registration”
  4. Fill out all the fields and click “Finish Registration” at bottom of page
  5. You will be able to access the Code of Ethics course in approximately 15 minutes

IF you have Forgotten Your Username:

Look it up with your NRDS number or email address

IF you have Forgotten Your Password:

Retrieve it with your username
