Technology: REALTOR® Secure Third-Party Evaluators
The REALTOR® Secure program uses third-party evaluators to conduct the security assessment of participants. The evaluators are independent consulting organizations that have information security as a primary practice area and are not affiliated with NAR.
Before inclusion in the REALTOR® Secure program and being listed here, the evaluator submits an application detailing their expertise. The Center for REALTOR® Technology reviews the organization and its application material to ensure it is qualified for participation in the program.
The brokerage, association or MLS pays the cost of the certification evaluation to the third party evaluator. Costs associated with the certification process are determined by the third party evaluator and are based on the MLS or broker site size, their technical infrastructure and the changes needed to meet the requirements.
A tiered certification fee is also applied to brokerages, associations and MLSs by NAR to cover program registration, processing, logo use and Web site publication. The certification is renewed annually.
