The Center for REALTOR® Technology is an active and supportive member of the RETS committee. CRT enthusiastically supports RETS use and how it enables innovation by standardizing access and transfer of information throughout the real estate industry through the use of open standards. In addition, CRT has available a RETS compliant solution.
Are You RETS Ready? CRT Can Make It Happen!
The Center for REALTOR® Technology is excited to announce the upcoming release of Variman - The Open Source and Free RETS Server.
Variman version 3.1 will be available late August/early September and will be fully RETS 1.72 compliant, as per the NAR MLS Board Policy
requirement that all MLSs be RETS compliant by December 2009. In addition to being fully compliant, version 3.1 has an advanced graphical admin tool that will simplify editing the complex metadata file.
In addition, CRT is pleased to announce that DIS International, whom has been helping maintain and develop Variman for the past year, is
offering installation, upgrade and continued maintenance service for new and existing Variman users. DIS' services are useful to those MLS
and Associations that may not have the in-house IT infrastructure or ability to identify qualified outsource resources to maintain or

What is RETS?
RETS - the Real Estate Transaction Standard is an open standard for exchanging real estate information. It is a collaborative effort between NAR and industry technology leaders who saw the need for easier access and movement of MLS information. Many vendors, brokers, agents, MLSs, vendors and providers have successfully implemented a RETS-compliant solution.

New CRT RETS applications
ezRETS is a new open-source ODBC driver that connects to RETS servers. Its power is that it allows end users to use RETS to retrieve listing information from a RETS server for use in common desktop applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, and Crystal Reports.
ezRETS is currently in beta release and was unveiled in May 2005, at the NAR at the Mid-Year conference. Learn more.
Variman is an Open Source RETS server, and a continuation of the CRT
Reference Implementation. Variman simplifies code maintenance and deployment. Variman is certified compliant with RETS v1.0 and 1.5, is cross platform and runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. PostgreSQL is supported. Learn more.
libRETS is a new CRT RETS library written in C++. You can access libRETS from many platforms, including Visual C++ on Windows, and gcc on just about any flavor of Unix. libRETS was unveiled in May 2005, at the NAR at the Mid-Year conference. Learn more.
Cart is CRT's graphical desktop RETS client. Cart is certified compliant with RETS v1.0 and 1.5, is cross platform and runs on Windows and Linux. Learn more.
