CRT hears constantly from REALTORS® and IT professionals about spam. E-mail boxes have become clogged with spam to the point it impedes productivity. You spend time sorting junk mail and miss key communications from customers.

The CRT has found a tool to help. Research done by CRT indicates Spambayes is a highly effective, open-source spam filter for users of Microsoft Outlook. CRT's review found Spambayes is an excellent, low-cost choice for the majority of real estate practitioners. Spambayes is available free of charge.

Spambayes is a Bayesian spam filter that uses statistical analysis to determine whether e-mail is spam. You don't have to monitor the program constantly; the program assigns statistical values to make filtering decisions. To make the program's use even easier, CRT has developed detailed installation and configuration instructions that lead you through the process.
