  Longer life expectancies and better health have given new meaning to retirement. Most people look forward to this time in their life, but few have a plan for getting there. Because so many REALTORS® are self-employed, they have to take responsibility for their own financial security. And since the average REALTOR® is 51 years old, according to the 2003 NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®Member Profile, it’s time to get started.

Are you Ready to Retire?

A 2004 survey by the American Savings Education Council found that only about 70 percent of workers were saving any money toward retirement. Of those, just 68 percent felt confident that they had enough money to retire comfortably.
