JULY 6: Introduction to Factiva
Background information on Oklahoma's minimum services law, the Reuters story on existing home sales that was released an hour ago, the Miami Herald profile of Senator Martinez from last November... Over 9,000 thousand newspapers, newswires, media transcripts, industry newsletters, and popular magazines are available to search on Factiva, where you can find the latest news, background information, and article archives. In this workshop you'll learn how to use keywords and manipulate dates, sources, and regional features to search for information in Factiva. (This workshop will be offered again in September).

Who owns Congressional Quarterly? Which companies are Homestore's main competitors? How old is the CEO of Citigroup? If you need to find out information about for-profit organizations large and small, Hoover's is the database to search. This workshop will cover how you can access Hoover's and search the database to find corporate key contacts, subsidiaries, company histories, financials, competitors, and more .
