Your NAR: Ethics CountDown

Don't delay: Make sure you meet the ethics training requirement deadline by the end of this year.

The deadline is approaching for REALTORS® to complete their required quadrennial ethics training. Training must be completed by December 31, 2008, and must cover the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and professional standards enforcement.

Ethics Countdown: Don’t Delay

Local REALTOR® associations can offer training on their own or in conjunction with other associations. Other methods, including home study and Internet-based courses, can also be used to meet the required learning objectives. Three free online ethics courses are available for members on REALTOR.org. Each meets the specific criteria and learning objectives for new or current REALTORS®, and completing courses online automatically updates a member’s NRDS education record. For more information about available ethics training resources, go to REALTOR.org/COEtraining.

Targeting Buyers

Need help talking to nervous buyers? A new REALTOR Benefits® brochure aimed at consumers provides a timely resource to describe why now may be the perfect time to purchase a home. Among the points included in It Is a Great Time to Buy!:

- Buyers have many options with home inventory at a 15-year high.

- Sellers are increasingly willing to negotiate to reach a win-win arrangement with buyers.

- Mortgage rates are near historical lows. Hovering around 6 percent, they’re about the same as they were 45 years ago.

This full-color, high-quality marketing piece is available for purchase online at REALTOR.org/store or by calling 800-874-6500 (select option 1). Packages of 100 brochures are available to members for $29.95 ($39.95 for nonmembers).
