"I'm a firm believer in being myself around my clients," says Korin, an outdoorsman at heart who puts on a suit only for closings and when meeting with his more conservative clients. Korin opts for a personal rather than high-tech approach to marketing, sometimes even visiting clients' workplaces in order to meet their coworkers. With his laid-back approach, Korin closed $5.6 million in sales in 2005. When he's not working, Korin, a former member of the U.S. Forest Service, may be casting a line from his boat. He lives on a lake, so he can fish before work. Korin's also an avid traveler. He spent five weeks in Costa Rica at the end of 2004 to study Spanish so that he could better serve Northern Virginia's diverse market.

Bountiful catch: Korin holds an annual fishing tournament and pig roast to network with current and former residents in his neighborhood.

Providing relief: After the 2004 South Asian tsunami, Korin collected $2,200 in donations from his office and used the funds to buy a fishing boat for victims in Sri Lanka.
