Goal #1:
Recommend the 2009 AEC Vice Chair at the 2008 AE Institute.
Action/Update
The subcommittee recommended that David Phillips, RCE, CAE, CEO, Charlottesville Area Association (VA) be the 2009 AEC Vice Chair. This recommendation was approved by 2010 NAR President Vicki Cox Golder.
Goal #2:
Recommend key AEC liaisons to 2009 NAR committees at the 2008 Midyear Meeting.
Action/Update
The subcommittee recommended AEs to be considered for appointments to key committee liaison positions. With this input, 2009 NAR President Charles McMillan appointed the following 2009 AEC key liaisons:
Business Issues Committee (2009) -- Terry Penza, RCE, CAE, North Shore-Barrington Assn (IL)
Communications Committee (2009) -- Tyrone Adams, Colorado Association
Executive Committee (2009) -- Malcolm Young, RCE, CAE, Louisiana REALTORS® Assn

Recommend AE appointments to the 2009 NAR Board of Directors (1 State AE, 2 Local AEs, 1 Regional MLS AE) at the 2008 Midyear Meeting.

With input from the subcommittee, 2009 NAR President Charles McMillan approved the following 2009 AE Board of Directors Appointments:
Local AE (2) -- Dave Phillips, RCE, CAE, Charlottesville Area Association (VA); Carol Van Gorp, RCE, Columbia Board (MO)
State AE (1) -- Gary Clayton, CAE, Illinois Association
Regional MLS AE (1) -- Diane Ruggiero, RCE, CAE, Kansas City Regional Association (KS)
Goal #4:
Select the 2008 Dr. Almon R. (Bud) Smith, RCE, AE Leadership Society inductees at the 2008 AE Institute (maximum of 6).

Goal #5:
Select the 2008 William R. Magel Award of Excellence recipient at the 2008 Midyear Meeting.
Action/Update
The subcommittee selected Rob Authier, RCE, CAE, Chief Executive Officer, Massachusetts Association of REALTORS®, as the recipient of the 2008 William R. Magel Award of Excellence.
Goal #6:
Select the 2008 AE Community Leadership Award recipient at the 2008 REALTORS® Conference and Expo.

Select the 2009 William D. North AE Institute Scholarship recipients at the 2008 REALTORS® Conference & Expo.

Goal #8:
Identify key NAR committees to which AEC liaisons will be appointed in 2010 at the 2008 REALTORS® Conference & Expo.

Actions to be taken to achieve goals:
Solicit nominations and applications from the AEC constituency prior to each National meeting; carefully review all nominations and applications and conduct interviews (when appropriate) to ensure that the most qualified candidates are recommended for these positions.
Expected outcome:
Qualified association executives are appointed to select positions within the association and selected as recipients for awards/scholarships.
