RCE Recognition
RecognitionAll candidates who receive the required number of cumulative points from their ADF and examination will be notified in writing that they have earned the RCE designation. All new designees must pay a one-time, non-refundable certification fee of $150. A news release for use by local media will be sent to the designee's association from the National Association. All new RCEs will receive a plaque, an RCE pin, and will be recognized during the AE Institute and both NAR meetings in front of their AE peers and volunteer leadership.
Designation UseRCEs may use the designation until they fail to comply with recertification requirements, as long as they remain paid staff of a local or state association affiliated with the National Association or Canadian Real Estate Association, a wholly-owned REALTOR® association subsidiary corporation, or a regional multiple listing service owned by a REALTOR® association. Designees must also pay a $60 annual fee to retain the designation.
If a designee becomes unemployed, but is seeking a new position as a REALTOR® association executive, the designee is allowed to use the designation for one year, and the designee will continue to be invoiced for dues during the one year time period when they are seeking employment with a REALTOR® association. However, it is the responsibility of the designee to inform the AE and Leadership Development Department (312/329-8514) if they wish to use the designation while seeking future employment. If the designee has not found an AE position after the one year period, then the designee loses the right to use the designation. If the AE secures employment with a REALTOR® association within a four-year time period, they can resume use of the designation.
If a designee leaves the REALTOR® association family, and holds a new position in the real estate industry, the designee is allowed to maintain the designation, and will be responsible for submitting dues/recertification fees. However, it is the responsibility of the designee to inform the AE and Leadership Development Department (312/329-8514) if they wish to continue using the designation.
An RCE who, upon retirement, is at least 60 years of age qualifies for life status.
A designee who leaves the REALTOR® association management profession for any consecutive four-year period loses the privilege to hold the designation and must reapply for certification.
